You feel her,

though can't find her, even though you immediately know she's

there, sort of, but not there.

The silence is deafening, confusing, troubling. She's gone, but she's not the only one,

Mr. Highbrows, their irrverent, condescending cat is missing too.

Kidnapping? What kind of kidnappers take a woman and a cat who'd just as soon bite the hand that feeds him than purr and stretch in contentment?

Kidnapping is the only answer to the deadly silent house he returns to after an uneventful day at work...right?
